Why is horseback riding equipment so damn expensive? I need a new helmet, gloves, and boots and half chaps, and I could easily drop $500 (or a hell of a lot more) on that stuff without even thinking about it, which is an entire paycheck for me.

When my dad is back from vacation, I should try on my Super Nice dress boots … I got too fat for them, but I’ve lost weight. If they fit again, I could buy gaiters for them and just use them for everyday.

Or I suppose I could buy some cheaper dress boots, since all things told, nice paddocks and chaps cost almost as much together as a lot of dress boots.

… ok bit the bullet, got these boots, these gloves, and this helmet, and skipped the chaps for now since mine are at least functional if gross looking. Almost went with these, but was too leery of the sizing.
